You can request an International Standard Book Number (ISBN) from the ISBN office in the country where the book is published. The organisation CB checks and manages all ISBNs for the Netherlands and Flanders.
If you are working with a publisher, such as for a dissertation, the publisher will usually provide the ISBN.
The University Library does not provide support when applying for an ISBN.
There are costs associated with requesting an ISBN.
