How do I request an ISBN?

You can apply for an International Standard Book Number (ISBN) from the ISBN office in the country where the book is published. The organisation CB checks and manages all ISBNs for the Netherlands and Flanders.

If you are working with a publisher, for example for a dissertation, the publisher will usually provide the ISBN.

The University Library does not provide assistance in applying for an ISBN.

There are costs associated with applying for an ISBN.
