Who has the copyright to my Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD thesis?

As the author of the thesis, in principle you hold the copyright to your work. This means that you have the right to make your thesis public and to reproduce it. If another person wishes to use your thesis, they must obtain your permission.

It might be possible that you do not hold the copyright to your thesis when the thesis is the result of an employment contract or commission.

Always consult a contract for any provisions regarding copyright. See also section 9.8 of the Student Charter.
