If you only need a chapter from a book and the book is not in the collection of the library, you can request a copy in sEURch from another library (ILL, Interlibrary Loan). This is free of charge for EUR staff. EUR students or other members pay € 6.50 per chapter. You pay the costs via pin or credit card at the information desk of the University Library, the Services desk at ISS Library or via IDEAL.

Requested copies are delivered as a PDF. You will receive an e-mail with a link and password. The link is also available in your library account under Requests. The PDF is available for 30 days and can be opened up to 5 times. After this, the PDF is automatically deleted. Advice: download the PDF to your own PC.

How to request a chapter from a book in sEURch:

  • Search the relevant book in sEURch;
  • If a print book is available, click on the title, then click Request item through interlibrary loan at Check Availability;
  • Click COPY, fill in the form and submit the request;
  • Please note that an e-book from another library cannot be borrowed. Check first whether you can find a print book via View Worldwide Editions and Formats.

If there is no print book, request it via the online form in your library account:

  • Click in sEURch on the Sign in button at the top right of the screen;
  • Log in with your ERNA account or Library account;
  • Select Requests;
  • Click on the orange button Create request;
  • Choose COPY and fill in the form as completely as possible;
  • Check the I accept box if you agree with the costs and conditions;
  • Click on Submit Request.
