How do I look for a journal?

How do you find out if a journal is available in the library collection? And, if so, in what form; print, electronic, or both?

Start looking for the journal in sEURch, the library search engine. Go to the library website and type in the search box a few words from the title of the journal. For example: political research quarterly. If the library has a subscription to the journal you are looking for, you will see it in the list of hits with a description of that journal and details of where you can find it. Is the journal in print, you'll see an overview of all available volumes. Is the journal available online, EUR students and staff members can click to the full text of the e-journal. Other members can obtain access with an EUR-account in the library.

Where to find printed journals in the University Library and Rotterdamsch Leeskabinet:

The editions of the current year are divided by subject and can be found on West 0 (general journals and Rotterdamsch Leeskabinet) and on East +1 (subject-specific journals) in the University Library Building. The section is mentioned in sEURch, for example:

Location: University Library Open Collection (not for loan)
Call Number: Journals Social Sciences

Older volumes can be requested at the information desk in the library or through the form on our website. In order to do this, you need a valid (digital) student card or library card and the P-number of the journal. The P-number is listed in the description of the journal in sEURch (for example: Call Number = P 15.404).

Where to find printed journals in the ISS Library:

The editions of the current year and most of the older volumes can be found in the open stacks in the ISS library. If you can't find an older volume, please go to the Services desk.
