A database is an electronic data collection. There are different kinds of databases. Think of databases with full text journal articles (e-journals); bibliographical data; e-books; jurisprudence and legislation; statistics; financial and corporate information; newspaper articles; reference books; address books; encyclopedias; or dictionaries.
The Library often pays for the use of these databases. The terms of use are then noted in contracts or licenses that we have with their publishers.
An overview of databases we have access to can be found in the Databases A-Z, the alphabetical list of databases. Freely accessible sources are also included in this. Besides the alphabetical list of databases, you can consult our LibGuides (guides by discipline) for a selection of recommended sources per discipline. You can also select the type of source you want to see within these guides.
